Korie McGreevy | Magic McGreevy Takes 2nd in Knockhill Battle.

A wet Superstock 600 race at Knockhill Racing Circuit lead to a thrilling race-long battle and a fantastic finish for Century Racing’s Korie McGreevy.

After securing a front row start in yesterday’s qualifying session, McGreevy set a time of 50.636s placing him 2nd for today’s race. One particular concern expressed by some riders yesterday would be lapping other riders as this circuit is so short, however this did not hinder McGreevy’s progress today.

As yesterday’s weather took a turn for the worse, McGreevy anticipated a wet race today, using his warm up session this morning to find his optimum set up. McGreevy set a 51.297s to place him 4th in Warm Up Practice.

McGreevy looked to stamp his authority over this race from the opening lap, as he took a convincing lead from the beginning of the race. Team #109 Kawasaki’s McGlinchey gave McGreevy a race long battle, chopping and changing position, before McGreevy was able to secure a small lead during the 10th lap. As the racing line began to dry out, battle with McGlinchey recommenced, with McGreevy giving chase to the Kawasaki rider.

McGreevy rode a clever, controlled race in tricky conditions, showing maturity and skill. After a thrilling race, McGreevy took 2nd position, just 0.054s behind McGlinchey. McGreevy took 20 important championship points, leaving him 4th in the title chase heading to Snetteron. With a 16-point deficit in the championship, we look forward to Round 6 of the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship.
